The product SULFAMETHOPRIM tablets are indicated for dogs and cats in the treatment of conditions caused by microorganisms sensitive to the combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, as follows:
- Respiratory infections: tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis, bronchitis and bronchopneumonia;
- Intestinal infections: infections with colibacilli, salmonella;
- Uro-genital infections: nephritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis;
- Infections of the skin and soft parts: pyodermitis, staphylococcal abscesses;
- Protozoal infections: coccidia, toxoplasma, Pneumocystis carini;
- Bacterial complications of viral diseases;
- Post-operative infections.

Composition:
1 tablet contains:
Active substances:
Sulfamethoxazole.…………………………………………….125 mg
Trimethoprim..…………………………………………………..25 mg

Contraindication:
Do not administer to animals with serious yeanlingney or liver problems or blood dyscrasia. Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the excipients.
How to use:
Administer SULFAMETHOPRIM tablets orally, as such, or incorporated into the food, after crushing the tablet.
Dogs: the recommended dose is 15–30 mg/kg bw/day, for 5–7 days. Administer 1-2 tablets/10 kg bw/day.
Cats: the recommended dose is 30 mg/kg bw/day, for 5-7 days. Administer 1 tablet/5 kg bw/day.
The treatment ought to continue for 2 to 3 days after the disappearance of the symptoms. To ensure a proper dosage, the body weight of the animals should be determined, whenever possible, to avoid under-dosing.
